This makes the Schneider Reco not only a loyal and robust daily companion, but also makes a sustainable statement as a giveaway. It has even been awarded the coveted Blue Angel for this.

Schneider Pen has combined its know-how with the knowledge and experience of Grässlin Kunststoffe and together they have found our Saxaplast PET to be the ideal material.

For the refillable retractable biros, the material had to meet several very specific requirements at once: For the smooth and reliable injection moulding process, the focus was primarily on the flowability of the material, while fracture behaviour and impact strength were correspondingly important for the subsequent safety and durability of the finished product. In addition, the Reco retractable ballpoint was to have an elegant matt shimmering surface. Saxaplast PET can meet all these requirements.

However, the most important aspect was the proven sustainability, which is guaranteed by the use of certified traceable material flows to post consumer recycled PET: The housing consists almost entirely of rePET. The tube of the large-capacity refill used is also made of recycled plastic and was thus also the world’s first refill made of recycled material.

The particularly environmentally friendly and resource-saving production of the Reco thus saves almost two thirds of CO2 emissions compared to the use of conventional plastic.
